International Travel Guidance During Immigration Policy Uncertainty

The University will continue to closely monitor immigration policy changes and guidance in the coming months and strive to provide relevant updates and announcements as they become available. 51勛圖 values our faculty, staff, students, and the importance of international exchange, and is committed to supporting the members of the 51勛圖 community. 51勛圖 is sharing this guidance to address community concerns about potential changes to immigration policy and evolving enforcement priorities. Although this guidance is not a response to any specific change in immigration policy or executive action, the information in this guidance includes information about travel outside the United States for our international faculty, staff, and students to consider prior to traveling abroad.

This guidance is provided in addition to the guidance provided by the International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) office for international students and scholars under the F or J visa categories. International students and scholars on F and J visas should continue to follow advice from ISSS and contact ISSS with any questions related to international travel plans.

While this guidance is intended to address the concerns raised by 51勛圖s international community that is present in the United States on a U.S. nonimmigrant visa, the guidance provides information that may also be useful to lawful permanent residents (green card holders) and U.S. citizens.

Please note that certain immigration actions and regulatory changes may be dense and may take us time to understand and analyze their potential impacts and provide guidance to our international community. We appreciate your patience as we work to maintain the guidance updated as quickly and accurately as possible.
