Honorary Degree Recipient: Radha Muthiah

Radha Muthiah is the president and CEO of the Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB), overseeing the organizations work to help people across greater Washington thrive by creating more equitable access to food and opportunity through community partnerships. CAFB is the anchor of our regions charitable food ecosystem, supplying the food for 64 million meals last year through 400 partner organizations.純

During her tenure, Muthiah has emphasized a people-centered, data-informed approach. This has included initiatives to provide CAFBs clients with foods tailored to their unique needs; the establishment of an advocacy training program for the people it serves; and the publication of CAFBs annual Hunger Report. It has also included the formation of groundbreaking partnerships designed to address some of hungers root causes. By working with hospitals and colleges to pair food with other critical services like health care and higher education, CAFB is helping to improve population health and build greater economic opportunity and inclusiveness throughout our region. Across all of CAFBs work, Muthiah deploys a variety of operating and business models and leverages multiple forms of investment to create sustainable revenue streams that enable lasting impact.胼純

Previously, Muthiah served as CEO of the Clean Cooking Alliance, an initiative hosted by the United Nations Foundation. She has also worked at CARE International, ICF International, the American Red Cross, Mercer Management Consulting, and the Council on Foreign Relations.胼純

Muthiah serves on several regional and national boards that focus on food security, economic development, and food as medicine. She has been recognized by Washington Business Journal as Nonprofit CEO of the Year and a Woman Who Means Business, and by Washingtonian magazine as Washingtonian of the Year and one of Washingtons Most Powerful Women.純

Muthiah holds a BA and an MA in economics from Tufts University and an MBA from Stanford University.

Honorary Degree Recipient: Elhadi Sy

Elhadj As Sy is a distinguished global leader in humanitarian work, global health, and international development. With more than 30 years of experience, he has held senior roles across UNICEF, UNAIDS, The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, and other international organizations.

From 2014 to 2019, Sy served as secretary general of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), where he played a pivotal role in disaster response and humanitarian diplomacy. He currently chairs the board of the Kofi Annan Foundation and co-chairs the Global Preparedness Monitoring Board, a joint initiative of the World Health Organization and the World Bank Group. His governance expertise extends to his roles as a governor at the Wellcome Trust and as a board member for organizations such as Interpeace, The Power of Nutrition, and the LEGO Foundation.

Sys leadership has also influenced climate adaptation, child welfare, and emergency preparedness. He has served as a commissioner for the Global Commission on Climate Adaptation and currently chairs the board of the African Child Policy Forum. His dedication to strengthening global health systems is further reflected in his role at the Independent Oversight and Advisory Committee for WHOs Health Emergency Programme.

Sy holds a bachelors degree in arts and human sciences from the University of Dakar, a postgraduate diploma in education from cole Normale Sup矇rieure in Dakar, and a diploma in diplomacy and international organization management from the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna.

A Senegalese national fluent in English, French, and German, Sy continues to shape international policy and humanitarian response as chancellor of the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, championing global health and resilience.

Honorary Degree Recipient: Colman Domingo

Colman Domingo is an acclaimed actor, writer, director, and producer. In 2024, he starred in and executive produced A24s Sing Sing; the film received three Academy Award nominations, including Best Actor for Domingo. In 2023, he starred as Bayard Rustin in Netflixs Rustin (Oscar-nominated for Best Actor) and Warner Bros. The Color Purple (SAG Ensemble nomination). On television, Domingo can be seen in Netflixs limited series The Madness and voicing Norman Osborn in the Disney+ animated series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. This spring, he stars in and is a director for Netflixs new comedy The Four Seasons, created by Tina Fey. On the big screen, he stars in Antoine Fuquas Michael as Joe Jackson, The Running Man directed by Edgar Wright, and Dead Mans Wire directed by Gus Van Sant.

He is currently in production on the anticipated third season of HBOs Euphoria and in Steven Spielbergs untitled sci-fi film. Select credits include Ma Raineys Black Bottom, Zola, If Beale Street Could Talk, Selma, Candyman, and Fear the Walking Dead.

Domingo has been nominated for many awards, including two Oscars, as well as two BAFTAs, SAGs, and Golden Globe Awards. In addition, he has won an Emmy for his work on HBOs Euphoria and has been nominated for multiple Tony簧 Awards (actor and producer), Critics Choice Awards, Independent Spirit Awards, NAACP Awards, a Laurence Olivier, and many more.

Premiering in the spring at New York Theatre Workshop is Lights Out: Nat King Cole, co-written by Domingo and NYTW artistic director Patricia McGregor. He has co-produced the Pulitzer Prizewinning and Tony-nominated play Fat Ham. He is a lead producer on the West End transfer of Retrograde, now playing at the Apollo Theater. He will direct the film Scandalous, starring Sydney Sweeney and David Jonsson, for Miramax.

Honorary Degree Recipient: Almar Latour

Almar Latour is publisher of The Wall Street Journal and was named CEO of Dow Jones, a world-leading news and business information services company, in 2020.

Under Latours leadership, Dow Jones has delivered record financial results, more than doubling profitability in four years, with significant growth in subscriptions and business information services. The company has doubled digital subscriptions while safeguarding The Wall Street Journals reputation as one of the worlds most trusted news organizations. Dow Joness portfolio of business information offeringsincluding Factiva, OPIS, and Risk & Complianceprovides businesses with key data and insights to support better decision-making.

Latour has an extensive track record of building successful news media businesses in the digital age. He oversaw the creation of Barrons Group, quadrupling the groups digital audience at Barrons and MarketWatch, and led the modernization of The Wall Street Journals website. He also spearheaded the development of The Wall Street Journal in Japan, Korea, and China.

A seasoned journalist, Latour has been stationed in Brussels, London, Stockholm, New York, and Hong Kong. He has served as a bureau chief in New York, as managing editor of The Wall Street Journal online, and as editor-in-chief of The Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones Newswires in Asia-Pacific before being appointed executive editor.

Latour is a native of the Netherlands and lives in New York City.

Honorary Degree Recipient: Orlando Bravo

Orlando Bravo is a founder and managing partner of Thoma Bravo. He led Thoma Bravos early entry into software buyouts and built the firm into one of the largest software-focused investors in the world, with more than $166 billion in assets under management. Today, Bravo directs the firms strategy and investment decisions. He has overseen more than 500 software and technology acquisitions conducted by the firm, representing approximately $265 billion in enterprise value.

Born and raised in Mayag羹ez, Puerto Rico, Bravo graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a bachelors degree in economics and political science from Brown University. He earned a JD from Stanford Law School and an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Bravo is the founder and chair of the Bravo Family Foundation, which aims to provide young adults in Puerto Rico with access to opportunity. In 2019, he committed $100 million to the foundations Rising Entrepreneurs Program (REP) with the goal of fostering entrepreneurship on the island.

Dedicated to supporting the next generation of scholars and future leaders, Bravo has been deeply involved in Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO), serving on its board and leading the 2024 expansion of the SEO Scholars program to Miami-Dade County.

Honorary Degree Recipient: Gloria Allred

Gloria Allred is a founding partner of涉llred, Maroko & Goldberg, a law firm that has successfully handled more womens rights cases than any other private firm in the nation, securing more than one billion dollars for victims.

Over the course of her nearly 50-year legal career, Allred has received numerous honors in recognition of her groundbreaking work. She was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by The National Trial Lawyers for her pioneering role in combating injustices and winning new rights, especially for women and minorities. President Obama has introduced her as one of the best attorneys in the country, while President Reagan presented her with the 1986 Volunteer Action Award for Outstanding Volunteerism.純

In 2018, Netflix globally launched Seeing Allred, an original documentary that chronicles Allreds battles for justice. The film continues to stream on the platform. That same year, Allred was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Organization for Women, recognizing her steadfast commitment to fighting injustices against women.純

Allred was inducted into the National Womens Hall of Fame and received the Fay Stender Award from California Women Lawyers. The Stender Award is given to a feminist attorney whose dedication to womens causes and ability to effect change make her a role model.

She also earned the LGBTQ+ Lawyers Association of Los Angeless Co-President's Award, the organizations highest honor, presented to individuals who exemplify and advance the values and goals of the association and have made outstanding contributions to the LGBTQ+ legal community. Additionally, Allred was recognized with the Lenore Kramer Award for Excellence from the Womens Caucus of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association.純

A three-time Emmy nominee for her commentaries on KABC television, Allred is also the author of Fight Back and Win: My Thirty-Year Fight Against InjusticeAnd How You Can Win Your Own Battles.
